Arthur & George, by Julian Barnes, is a historical novel about two real men, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and George Edalji. Barnes's narrative covers both lives, switching back and forth between the families, childhoods, professions, and I had the opportunity of reading the book by Julian Barnes, and seeing the video of Arthur and George played by The Arthur in Arthur & George is, of course, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The George is the much less well-known George Edalji, a native-born Englishman of Indian and Scottish descent. His father was a Parsee out of India who became vicar of a South Staffordshire church where he served for some forty years.
